You should take a break from The Breather when you are ill, just like you wouldn't have the energy to go to the gym to workout if you were sick.
Once you are feeling better you can start at a lower resistance until you build back up your prior strengh. Use the effort scale to gage how you feel on each resistance level as you get better.
