Do you have any supporting documentation/references/research articles on how the Breather improves hyo-laryngeal elevation/functioning?
RMT, particularly of the expiratory muscles, has been shown to specifically improve hyolaryngeal function by increasing movement of the hyolaryngeal complex after 4 weeks of use.
In addition, assessment of muscle activity by surface EMG revealed that suprahyoid muscle activity is also improved by RMT.
Activation of these and related muscle groups by RMT using the Breather or other devices leads to improved penetration/aspiration scores and swallow efficiency, contributing to to improved pulmonary hygiene and reduced risk of aspiration pneumonia.

Is there or has there been any research about the cognitive benefits of using the breather device?
This area of investigation has only emerged recently but is followed with great attention. A study using very weak respiratory exercise (incentive spirometry) in elderly people has shown that respiratory exercise provides cognitive benefits such as ...
I have problems with my speech and/or swallowing. Can the Breather help me?
Yes. Respiratory muscle training (RMT), the expiratory muscles in particular has been shown to improve swallowing and cough, helping people with dysphagia. EMST has been shown to activate the movement of the hyolaryngeal complex, and this improved ...
I easily get out of breath. Can I use the Breather?
Yes. You might find that you will have to work with low resistance for a while until your dyspnea, or breathlessness, has improved. Research has shown that respiratory muscle training (RMT) significantly improves dyspnea and breathlessness, which is ...

I suffer from asthma. Is it safe to use the Breather?
Yes, research has shown that respiratory muscle training (RMT) improves respiratory muscle strength. Children and adults suffering from asthma should benefit from using the Breather by being able to clear the airways more efficiently due to increased ...
